National Aquarium of Baltimore
“The Aquarium’s web site seeks to create lasting connections between people and the aquatic world, to set the stage for a visit to the Aquarium, and to foster knowledge about the aquatic world and its inter-relationship with all of us.”"The Aquarium is home to approximately 16,500 specimens and more than 660 species of animals.”
Maryland’s leading tourist attraction, the National Aquarium provides cultural, recreational, and educational experiences that meet the needs of diverse communities.
The website has an area where students can “Learn More” about some of the aquarium’s amazing animals and their habitats. Students can explore by animal, which include amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals, and reptiles. Each is represented with a description of the animal, its diet, range, size, population statistics, it’s predators, and an aquarist note.
Teachers can download fact sheets on a variety of marine and Aquarium-related topics.
