“Since 1980, New Horizons for Learning served as a leading-edge resource for educational change by identifying, communicating, and helping to implement successful educational strategies. Our role has always been to give visibility to effective teaching and learning practices and ideas that have not yet reached the mainstream, and to work in coordination with other reputable networks and learning communities. New Horizons for Learning has often been a “launching pad” for new educational organizations and projects.” The site is retired, but there is still a wealth of information and access to diverse articles of educational research.
Teaching and learning ideas, neuroscience news, and research including best practices in Character Education, Differentiated Instruction, Emotional Intelligence, Learning Styles, Literacy, Multiple Intelligences and Thinking Skills. New Horizons features information about inclusion of students with special needs. This is a virtual warehouse of information on the requirements necessary for the successful inclusion of the needs of all students into the standard classroom environment. Find out about successfully developing Least Restrictive Environments (LRE) and Individualized Education Programs (IEP). The New Horizons for Learning Online Journal is published here.
