Common-place is a searchable website for exploring and exchanging ideas about early American history and culture. The content is focused on American history before 1900. Topics include architecture, literature, politics, parlor manners, oral history, and military history, to name a few. Articles include reviews (works of history, fiction, film, television, or electronic media), feature stories and literature, Ask the Author, This site is designed to appeal to not just the scholar but anyone curious about American History. Common School is a moderated forum for a teacher to talk about how to teach early American history. There is also a mailing list for monthly content updates.
