Perhaps best known for the Newbery and Caldecott awards and Children’s Notable Lists, this division of the American Library Association supports the profession of children’s librarianship. The goal is to enable and encourage practitioners to provide the best library services to our nation’s children. Media specialists, children’s librarians, children’s book publishers and other professionals interested in providing library services that support children as they become lifelong learners will find programs and publications of interest on the ALSC website. There are also lists of great websites, reading lists, and resources for children and families. (some available in Spanish)
