Speakers Match

Since its creation in the early 1960s by President John F. Kennedy, 170,000 Peace Corps volunteers have been invited by 137 host countries to work on issues ranging from AIDS education, youth development, and environmental preservation. Today volunteers are also working in emerging and essential areas such as information technology and business development.
The National Peace Corps Association was founded for the people who have served as volunteers and staff in the Peace Corps. The Association developed the Speakers Match program to “help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of the American people.” Educators can register online to be a host for a Returning Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) and search for registered speakers to come to their classrooms and speak to students about the important work of the Peace Corps.
This site contains a wealth of useful audiovisual material including videos, podcasts and slideshows about countries where the Peace Corps has a presence, as well as other topics.
