The Barahona Center promotes literacy in English and Spanish. It “endeavors to inform current and future educational decision-makers about books centered around Latino people and culture and about books in Spanish and their value in education of English-speaking and Spanish-speaking children and adolescents.”
The website includes a search for Recommended Books in English About Latinos. This search includes the option of narrowing to a grade or range of grades, settings/country, and using keywords. Visitors to the site will also find Special Lists of Caldecott Medal and Newbery Medal Winners translated into Spanish, sing-alongs in Spanish, magazines in Spanish for children and adolescents, and websites in Spanish.
