At this multimedia digital library K-12 teachers will find an extensive collection of classroom-ready resources, as well as media-rich lesson plans and professional development resources. Each resource is catalogued by grade level and correlated to national and state standards.
In the area of sciences, the website has resources in engineering, life science, and physical science. Civil rights and Brown v Board of Education is explored in the social studies area. The Teacher’s Domain uses high-quality multimedia from “NOVA”, “American Experience”, and other public television productions and partners. Explanatory background articles are also provided for each resource.
Teacher’s Domain also provides asynchronous professional development courses which “broaden educators’ knowledge of elementary, middle, and high school science content and teaching methodologies, and helps them integrate technology into the classroom.”Teachers’ Domain resources include video and audio segments, Flash interactives, images, documents, lesson plans for teachers, and student-oriented activities. Once you register, you can personalize the site using “My Folders” and “My Groups” to save your favorite resources into a folder and share them with your colleagues or students.
The site is free but registration is necessary.
