Students can watch stem cells growing in a culture, learn about the science that is being done in space on the Space Station, watch videos that explain nanotechnology, read stories about the controversial topic of regenerative medicine, and much more on this companion website to the Museum of Science in Boston’s Current Science and Technology Center.
Students can download interactive activities such as calculating body mass index, watch and listen to cosmonauts during a spacewalk, and see an animation which explains the upcoming missions to hunt for planets around other suns. They may see how many pieces make up the International Space Station and the countries which contribute them. Or, they may want to learn more about stem cell research. Here they can find several drawings that show where stem cells come from, how they’re grown, and how they are used in research.
