This beautiful exhibit of the art of Winslow Homer, one of the greatest American artists of the nineteenth century, chronicles his life through his early works in oils and later his watercolors. Thirty-six paintings which span the years from 1862 to 1909 are highlighted. Viewers may enlarge the high-resolution images and in some cases zoom in and pan over them to see composition and brushwork. Along with a slideshow of his works, the site has a timeline of his life. Interspersed through the site are video clips which describe periods of his career.
