The Math Forum
The Math Forum is a leading online resource for improving math learning, teaching, and communication sponsored by Drexel University.Teachers, mathematicians, researchers, students, and parents using the power of the Web to learn math and improve math education.The site offers a wealth of problems and puzzles; online mentoring; research; team problem solving; collaborations; and professional development. Students can have fun while learning math. Educators can share ideas and acquire new skills. The site provides users with the following links: Profesional Development, Problems of the Week, Ask Dr. Math, Math Tools, Teacher 2 Teacher.
The “Ask Dr. Math” section has an archive of math questions sent in by students. If the question has not been answered, students can submit their question to volunteer “math doctors.” Teachers can submit their teaching questions to the “Teacher2Teacher” service. The Problems of the Week (PoWs)-subscription based, available for a fee, provide third through twelfth grade students challenging math problems.
The Teacher Exchange area is a great place for teachers to find lesson plans and to submit plans to share with other teachers.
