The Earth Explorers Series

“Earth Explorers” are those people, young or old, who have a fascination with Earth system processes. They come from all backgrounds and have a variety of interests.
Each month, NASA will publish a new article about an “Earth Explorer.” Past articles include an oceanographer, a dolphin show trainer, a meteorologist, college students, middle school students, an archaeologist, and many others. Each article has versions for both educators and students in grades K-4, 5-8, 9-12, and Post Secondary. Topics include remote sensing, art, women’s roles as scientists and mathematicians, satellites and computers used for fire fighting, animal migration, science and history, and more. An “Educator Features and Articles” section links to lesson plans, activities, posters, websites and educator guides.
