FOSSweb.com contains on-line activities based on grade school curriculum developed by the FOSS Program at the Lawrence Hall of Science. These activities make integrative experiences for the FOSS modules or great stand-alone, science-based games for home or classroom use. The on-line activities relate to the FOSS Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, and Scientific Reasoning strands. Teacher registration is required for access to most modules, and students can use teacher passwords. Students are challenged to apply what they have learned in innovative and fun ways.This site is organized into three major components: K-2, 3-6, and middle school.
- K-2: Interactive modules on trees; fabrics; animals; wood and paper; insects; balance and motion; plants; solids and liquids; air and weather; and pebbles, sand, and silt.
- 3-6: Interactive modules on magnetism and electricity; models and designs; levers and pulleys; food and nutrition; the human body; earth; water; mixtures and solutions; measurements; physics of sound; solar energy; landforms; ideas and inventions; and environments.
- Middle School: Interactive courses on the human brain and senses; populations and ecosystems; force and motion; planetary science; electronics; earth history; diversity of life; weather and water; and chemical interactions.
