“National Scenic Byways Online provides travelers with current, detailed information about scenic byways throughout the United States. Sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), this site promotes the FHWA-designated All-American Roads and National Scenic Byways, as well as many state and federally-designated byways.Online travelers and adventures planning a road trip can browse America’s byways by state or look them up by name. Many of these featured scenic roads include historical information and photographic slideshows. There is also a variety of travel stories covering such topics as query Americana, haunted highways, and farming heritage. You can also browse the roads by your favorite activity, whether it be bird-watching or fall foliage viewing.
