There are many types of graphic organizers. This site focuses on five of them: the Star/web, the chart/matrix, the tree map, the chain, and the sketch.

Different organizers focus on different aspects of organizing information. They also give students “another way to see information.” They help with analyzing, brainstorming, comparing and contrasting, evaluating, hypothesizing, sequencing, visualizing, and interacting.

This site also has an assignments area with exercises, projects, support resources, and rubrics. The authors also have provides a quotes page which “authenticate what we do or think we know.” In addition, there are links to a wordlist, a glossary, rules of thumb, and on-line resources.
