The lesson plans available on this site are organized into U.S. History and World History, with subcategories within each group. The main History and Social Studies page is divided into two content area tabs: Lesson pLans and Websites. The Subject Navigator allows you to filter either tab based on subject and grade range.

Lesson plans are organized into sections for quick reference; sections include: Introduction, Learning Objectives, Activities, and Extending the Lesson. For instance, in the lesson plan entitled “Other Worlds: The Voyage of Columbus”, the extension incorporates online exhibitions featuring artifacts from the time period as well as EDSITEment approved websites for further investigation into the lives of the Native Americans before and after Columbus.
