Started in 1998, this site has received numerous education awards and has regularly been included in Google’s ‘Top 50’ education sites. The site provides professional development resources for educators and librarians. All sections of this resource are devoted to helping educators effectively integrate technology into teaching and learning.
The 42eXplore section of the site provides access to resources by theme or curriculum subject area. Links to specific topics within the theme or subject area are listed alphabetically. Topic pages provide links to outside information resources, an activity section, websites for students and teachers for additional exploration, and vocabulary particular to the topic.
Teacher Tap is the professional development section of the website, complete with information and links for: Technology Rich Learning; Internet Resources; Libraries, Literature, and Information Literacy; and Technology Tools.
The Literature Learning Ladder incorporates popular and award winning children’s and young adult literature with appropriate web resources. Combinations include: Themes and Lit Circles, Caldecott Connections, and Fun with Favorites.
Access is provided to Activate, The Journal of Technology-Rich Learning. This journal shares technology based education ideas. Past topics have include digital photo safaris and integrating the best of Web 2.0 in the school library media program.
