Estuaries.gov
This is the educational site for the NOAA’s National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERRS) and was created as a tool for educators and students. It provides “cutting edge content” on estuarine principles and concepts. Mouse over the tabs and find topics under each heading.
Educators will find the new Estuaries Curriculum 101 which has been aligned to national standards for grades 9-12. There are modules for Earth science, life science, and physical science. There is also a Chesapeake Bay module. This page also has a search area for resources that can be used for all grade levels. Teachers can also subscribe to receive the NERRS Education Bulletin for “updates on estuarine educational events, new classroom resources, and professional development opportunities for educators. ”The site is also available in Spanish.
