Exploring Magnetism is a series of six lessons, broken into multiple sessions, on general magnetism, solar wind, solar flares, space weather, electromagnetism, and earth’s magnetism. Each session begins with a summary of the session, student objectives, correlating national education standards, and a list of materials required for the session. Each session is broken into several inquiry-based learning activities, which are outlined for the teacher. In addition, there are sections for background information, a glossary, and further resources. Printable worksheets and rubrics are included.
“These sessions can be used as a unit on magnetism in an Earth or Space Science course, a Physical Science course, or as a supplement to existing science curriculum. The activities can be used together or separately, depending on the time available to the teacher. ”Exploring Magnetism
