Joyce Valenza's Homepage
http://www.sdst.org/shs/library/jvweb.html
As a media specialist, Joyce Valenza uses a dazzling array of technologies and strategies to improve the education of all students in her school. Such an array can be more than a bit overwhelming at first glance, but don’t worry. This site is easy to navigate, and the information is well organized and broken into manageable categories. (See the educator’s guide below for specific links if you need help knowing where to start.) The benefits of this site are mutlifold. On one level, it serves as a resource for ready-to-use materials, such as lesson plans, podcasts, and templates. On a second level, it serves as a starting point for learning more about various technologies, such as blogs, wikis, flickr, and imovies. On a third level, the site serves as a model of how to utilize technology in the media center and the classroom to meet students’ educational needs. Some of the resources require applications such as Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or Power Point for viewing. A few areas are password protected (class blogs and school databases). Have fun!
Below are links to specific areas of Joyce’s homepage. Each link is followed by a brief listing of what kinds of resources and/or information can be found there.
