CReSIS-The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice sheets
The Center for Remote Sensing of Ice Sheets is an organization created by the National Science Foundation to study the response of sea level changes to the balance of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica. At this site CReSIS provides information, including research results and news, related to their work. The site also provides resources for education at k-12 and post secondary levels. These resources include lesson plans, activities, and materials such as data, images, and information sources to use in the classroom. Students and teachers can follow the work of scientific teams at the Center and in the field, access lessons and data on topics of interest, locate current news on environmental change and polar ecosystems, experiment with climate-modeling activities, and develop lessons of their own. Some of these resources have been gathered from other places, while some are original creations of CReSIS. Topics include polar climates, analyzing temperature trends, learning to take scientific notes, global warming, and climate change.
