The National Park Service
The National Park Service website is comprised of four major sections.
- Park and Recreation. Pick a park to visit or explore online. Search NPS parks by alphabetical listing, geographic region, or by theme, such as dinosaurs or Civil War.
- History and Culture. A link to the past enables users to explore America’s cultural resources--buildings, landscapes, archaeological sites, ethnographic resources, objects and documents, structures and districts. This area provides information about people from the past and establishes important connections to the present. The vast array of topics include Archaeology, the Civil War, American Indians, building America’s National Park Roads and Parkways, Coastal Florida and Georgia History, and lots more. Check out the learning tools for lesson plans, virtual exhibits, and online tours.
- Nature and Science. Explore topics such as global conservation, health and safety, and laws and regulations related to air, biology, geology, natural sounds, and water. This information-rich area includes all kinds of sounds and images from nature as well as a large section of educational resources.
