Kinetic City is an amazing collection of science experiments, games, and activities for students to do online and away from the computer. Sign-up is required, but it is a free and quick process. Activities address topics such as the human body, diversity of life, adaptation and evolution, and human learning. Within each topic, students can play an online game, conduct experiments, create an artistic product, and complete a creative writing piece. With such a variety of activities, multiple learning styles are addressed, and students get to practice reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while gaining scientific knowledge. Some activities can be done individually, while others require multiple participants. The site does provide an educators page, which contains some information on the educational benefits of the site. However, the majority of the educators section is devoted to information on creating a Kinetic City Club, which requires a large fee, and is targeted toward after school or summer programs. Having club membership provides more resources, but is not required for using the basic version of the site.
