The education department of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York created this site as a way to provide an interactive experience about art and artists for kids from ages 4-12. The site is designed to engage children in fun, multimedia learning experiences about works of art in the Albright-Knox Gallery and the basic art fundamentals behind those works. Children are guided through the site by “Artie,” a bright, non-gendered, A-shaped character. At Artie’s house, children can play art games, create their own art work, send art e-cards, and visit the museum’s Artindex. These features allow children to explore sculpture, portraiture, landscapes, still life, art techniques, the use of color, and more. Guiding instructions for the site are provided in Spanish and English.
