Focus on Forests
http://www.focusonforests.org/
This site from the United Kingdom looks at the shrinking forests of the world and how we can save them from extinction. The site is divided into seven chapters with a “Helping Chameleon” to guide visitors through the site, explain terms, and give facts and useful links for further study.
Educators can register for free access to the Teachers’ Section which has a text-only version of their Teacher’s Handbook with activities, resource sheets, and more. There are also outline maps, a cross-section of a rain forest, and resources from the World Land Trust. Most of the resources are in PDF format. Teachers can order a free “Bridging the Gap” wall chart which has information on the World Land Trust efforts in Ecuador.
