There are a few major points of interest at American Epic, including a Teaching and Learning section with social studies projects and a Projects and Samples compilation of educational materials. In the Teaching and Learning section, the site provides in-depth projects for High School Government & Civics, Middle School Social Studies, and Elementary Social Studies. At all three grade levels, you will find activities, lesson plans, background documents, and assessments. The major themes of the projects center on forms of government, constitutions, and core democratic values.In the Projects and Samples portion of the site, there are collections of materials on the Hopewell Native Americans, slavery, Inuits and igloo building, and an interactive gallery. The interactive gallery contains demonstrations of multimedia presentations on various topics in social studies, art, and science. Not all of the presentations are presented in their entirety, but they are worth a look.
