http://www.readwritethink.org/lessons/lesson_view.asp?id=229
A lesson plan for grades 3–5 English Language Arts
Based on the Guided Comprehension Model developed by Maureen McLaughlin and Mary Beth Allen, this lesson from ReadWriteThink introduces students to the comprehension strategy of visualizing using sketch-to-stretch, a strategy that teaches them to interpret texts through drawings. Students also have the opportunity to interpret the drawings of others and explore friendships that beat the odds.
