A lesson plan for grade K Mathematics
In this lesson, teachers ensure that students have grasped the major concepts on sorting and organizing. Students should be able to: collect data using objects, pictures, and symbols; organize data by sorting and classifying in different ways; display data using multiple representations; and engage in such skills as problem solving, reasoning, proving, communicating, connecting, and representing fundamental ideas about data. As a culminating activity, students should demonstrate their ability to use the experiences of all the lessons in this sequence in a new context.
