A lesson plan for grades K–2 Social Studies
This EconEdLink lesson will help students become good consumers and producers. Students will participate in a marketplace simulation by role-playing producers and consumers. They will explain how prices affect people’s willingness to buy things in markets. This lesson incorporates an interactive student activity, a printable student worksheet, and links to a variety of web resources.

- Goal 6: The learner will apply basic economic concepts to home, school, and the community.
- Objective 6.01: Examine wants and needs and identify choices people make to satisfy wants and needs with limited resources.
- Objective 6.02: Describe how people of different cultures work to earn income in order to satisfy wants and needs.
- Objective 6.06: Identify the uses of money by individuals which include saving and spending.
- Objective 6.07: Recognize that all families produce and consume goods and services.
Grade 2
