A lesson plan for grades K–2 Social Studies
In this EconEdLink lesson, students learn about trading. They will read the fairytale of “Jack and the Beanstalk” and discuss why Jack trades his pet cow for beans. Students will be given a series of opportunities to exchange one item for another and explain which exchanges are examples of barter and which ones involve the use of money. This lesson incorporates a student interactive and links to a variety of web resources.
