Bridge: Sea Grant Ocean Sciences Center
Bridge is supported by the National Sea Grant Office, the National Oceanographic Partnership Program (NOPP), and the National Marine Educators Association (NMEA). It is a growing collection of marine education resources available online and provides educators with a convenient source of accurate and useful information on global, national, and regional marine science topics.There are five main areas of the site that will students and teachers learn more about marine science and opportunities available to them.
- Ocean Science Topics includes links to other sites on the Web covering a large variety of subtopics with categories such as biology, chemistry, physics, marine geology, atmosphere, habitats, and human activities.
- Professional Development brings together a list of many marine science opportunities for educators and provides links to their websites. Find information about online courses, grants, workshops, organizations, and more.
- Lesson Plans include data activities and links to websites with marine science lesson plans.
- The Resource Pavilion contains links to student opportunities, virtual expeditions, online publications, aquariums, and more.
- The Data Port contains great learning activities and lesson plans submitted by teachers, links to data for use in your classroom, and scientist features.
At the Bridge website you can also find information about being a Scientific and Technical Advisory Reviewer or a Teacher Reviewer of On-Line Learning for the organization and subscribe to the discussion list.
