A lesson plan for grades K–2 English Language Arts
In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students learn to develop ideas collaboratively, plan writing projects before executing them, and compose sentences related to a specific topic. The lesson teaches these skills while drawing from the lives of first- and second-grade students who write and publish autobiographies based on personal photographs.
The lesson begins with the students working at home with their families to select and record relevant information about photos. Students then work in small groups and independently to create their autobiographies. This resource includes links to teacher and student materials.
