As slippery as an eel: An ocean unit exploring simile and metaphor
http://www.readwritethink.org/lessons/lesson_view.asp?id=832
A lesson plan for grades K–2 English Language Arts
In this ReadWriteThink lesson, students explore simile and metaphor in fiction and nonfiction ocean books. Using the figurative language they have identified in their readings as a model, students revise their own work to add simile and metaphor. Students then write new pieces that include figurative language as part of a class book. This lesson uses the Multigenre Mapper interactive activity.
