A lesson plan for grades 3 and 5 Science
This Weekly Science Update, found on the Science NetLinks website, focuses on plant defense mechanisms. With the help of weed scientist Joe Neal of North Carolina State University, students gain a greater understanding of poison ivy’s chemical defenses, and of the many reasons for and ways in which other plants protect themselves from being eaten.
Using a 90-second net-radio format, Weekly Science Updates are mini-lessons designed to introduce and investigate various scientific concepts.
