A lesson plan for grades 6–7 Social Studies
In this activity, students embark on an imaginary journey on which they question the value of gold and explore what it is about gold that has inspired people to create stories, fight wars, and travel to parts unknown for thousands of centuries. They also investigate the effects these pursuits had on the Earth and think about what they would be willing to do for gold? Although this activity is geared toward middle school students, it has differentiated instruction for students of all ages.
