A lesson plan for grades 6–8 English Language Arts
In this lesson that can be repeated throughout the school year, students evaluate the types of texts they enjoyed reading previously. Students classify and categorize common characteristics in types of books they have read recently. After searching for books that meet their interest criteria, students create a list for future reading. This lesson provides links to graphic organizers and sites that categorize young adult booklists into subject and genre.
