Exploring the isometric drawing tool
http://illuminations.nctm.org/LessonDetail.aspx?ID=L607
A lesson plan for grades 6–8 Mathematics
Students explore using the isometric drawing tool and gain practice and experience in manipulating drawings. Students will need access to computers for this activity and will work independently or in small groups to explore the drawing capabilities of this program.
Students will:
- Explore and practice using the isometric drawing tool.
- Explore polyhedra using different representations and perspectives.
NCTM Standards and Expectations students will exhibit in this lesson:
- Precisely describe, classify, and understand relationships among types of two- and three-dimensional objects using their defining properties.
- Draw geometric objects with specified properties, such as side lengths or angle measures.
