A lesson plan for grades 9–12 Mathematics
In this final lesson of a series, students put together and review all they have learned in the previous lesson. The teacher guides students through a series of questions about the process they used and the information they learned.
NCTM Standards and Expectations covered in this lesson include:
- Understanding and representing translations, reflections, rotations, and dilations of objects in the plane by using sketches, coordinates, vectors, function notation, and matrices.
- Using various representations to help understand the effects of simple transformations and their compositions.
- Using geometric ideas to solve problems in, and gain insights into, other disciplines and other areas of interest such as art and architecture.
