Myths, Folktales and Fairy Tales Internet Project

Part of Scholastic’s on-line activities, The Myths, Folktales and Fairy Tales Internet Project has online activities for grades 1 through 8. Students may write their own tales, read and listen to interviews with authors, and explore cultural responses to themes that are found universally around the world.
The Myths Section includes a map and interactive timeline for accessing stories from 15 geographic regions, as well as a Myths Machine to help brainstorm before writing your own myth. There is also a Myth Workshop with Jane Yolen.
The Folktales Section includes 3 workshops: a Folktale Writer’s Workshop with Alma Flor and Rafe Martin,Exploring Everyday Folktales with Nina Jaffe, and a Storytelling Workshop with Gerald Fierst
.The Fairy Tales includes Fracture Fairy Tales & Fables with John Scieszka and Discovering Fairytales essay.
