Action ABC's: Learning vocabulary with verbs
http://www.readwritethink.org/lessons/lesson_view.asp?id=918
A lesson plan for grades K–1 English Language Arts
In this lesson that reviews the definition of a verb, teachers engage students in introductory game that activates prior knowledge about parts of speech. Students work in collaborative groups to make lists of verbs that begin with each letter from the alphabet. After writing sentences that use each verb, students illustrate their work and create an “Action Alphabet” book. This lesson provides opportunities for the use of instructional technology.
