Students learn how to predict and respond to a short story while the teacher reads aloud “The Tale-Tell Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe. After students have studied the vocabulary and have made predictions about the story, they write an acrostic or comic strip in response. This lesson provides a vocabulary guide, prediction questions, project assignment sheet, and rubric for the story, as well as online tools for writing acrostics and creating a comic strip.
