A lesson plan for grades 3–5 English Language Arts
This lesson describes a strategy for students to share books and ideas with other students. After exploring several examples of book reviews, students write their own reviews of books they are reading and create a visual representation to assist with the presentation of their book. Each day, at the end of independent reading time, students present “book boosts” to their classmates. During their presentation, students must provide the title, a brief summary without divulging the end, and a quick rating of the book.
