A lesson plan for grades 2–3 Social Studies
In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore the culture of different regions by learning about differences in foods and recipes. This lesson engages students in collaborative group work, development of research skills, and whole class discussion.
Students will:
- discuss what they know about regional differences in the United States;
- research regions of the United States to learn more about cultural traditions, customs, and landscape and climate features; and
- illustrate a United States map with some of the regional characteristics they have learned about.
Xpeditions provides links to web resources that contain information about international recipes and foods, detailed instructions for completing lesson, and suggestions for assessment and extension activities.
