In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore the work of Tyrone Hayes, a scientist whose research focuses on biology and herpetology. Activities in this lesson engage students in development of reading comprehension and research skills, as well as participation in whole class discussion.
Students will:
- learn about the life and work of Tyrone Hayes;
- explain how Hayes’s cultural and life experiences influenced his career choice and locations of study; and
- explain how studying animals’ development may provide insight into environmental hazards for humans.
