A lesson plan for grade 3 Social Studies
In this Xpeditions lesson, students explore a variety of ways the environment influences the design and construction of homes around the world. This lesson engages students in small group work, evaluating media literacy for information, and whole group discussion.
Students will:
- understand how humans adapt to variations in the physical environment; and
- be able to describe how the physical environment, including weather and climate, influences building styles and the availability of building materials.
Xpeditions provides links to necessary web resources, detailed instructions for completing the lesson, and suggestions for assessment and extension activities.
