Genesis Search for Origins
http://genesismission.jpl.nasa.gov/
NASA’s Discovery mission Genesis has launched its spacecraft to collect pieces of the sun, called solar wind, that may contain the answers. After its August 8, 2001 launch, the Genesis spacecraft began its journey a million miles sunward. At L1, it has unfolded its collectors and will “sunbathe” for two years before returning to Earth in 2004 with its precious cargo. Although the Genesis sample return capsule crashed to Earth in September of 2004, scientists are hopeful that a “significant repository of solar wind materials may have survived that will keep the science community busy for some time.”
