The Heart: An Online Exploration
http://www.fi.edu/learn/heart/index.html
Discover the complexities of the heart’s development and structure. Students can follow the blood through the blood vessels, wander through the web-like body systems, learn how to have a healthy heart and monitor their heart’s health.
This site allows students to listen to heartbeats, find out about blood typing and read some heart healthy menus in the Things to Do section. They can take a surgeon’s-eye-view of open heart surgery, compare two x-ray images of the heart, see illustrated diagrams of the structure of the heart, and take an animated trip down a coronary artery in the Things to See section. And, they can listen to heart sounds and a heart murmur in the Hear Preview Gallery.
All this and QuickTime movies, resource materials, enrichment activities, and a brief glossary can be found on this site.
