In October 1863, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent was created in Geneva, Switzerland, to provide nonpartisan care to the wounded and sick in times of war.This organization’s website contains global news articles and editorials in text, audio, and video formats. You will find information about world events, disasters, refugee conditions, food crisis, disease epidemics, and much more from all over the world. You will also find images related to these topics in the photo gallery taken by members of this humanitarian operation.The Youth section of this website provides kids with information and news about youth humanitarian and relief efforts, particularly on issues of HIV/AIDS and reducing discrimination. Both are seen as high priorities and areas where young people can really make a difference.
