Theater of Electricity

The Museum of Science is home to the world’s largest air-insulated Van de Graaff generator. This generator was originally used as a research tool in early atom-smashing and high energy X-ray experiments. As newer methods of atomic acceleration became available, the machine was used for instructional purposes only.
This site about electricity contains instructional videos, photos, links to related and useful resources, a safety quiz, activities to explore static electricity (which can be done individually or as a class and are almost complete lesson plans), teacher resources, links, a photo gallery, and more.
