Grimms' Fairy Tales: From Folklore to Forever
http://www.nationalgeographic.com/grimm/index2.html
The Brothers Grimm wrote Germanic folktales in an effort to preserve cultural treasures. National Geographic hosts Grimms’ Fairy Tales with the complete text of the original story in print and in some cases, audio. “The Bremen Town-Musicians” and “Cinderella” are two of the stories with audio included. Be aware that these are not the Disney versions of these fairy tales! Through the years, the stories have been changed to soften the scary parts and add morals, but these examples are taken from an early translation. Navigate by following the “Tell me a story…” links, or use the treasure chest to access contents. Also in the Contents are links to activities, biographical information, and other resources about the Brothers Grimm.
