The Joy2Learn Foundation was created to provide high-quality arts content to schools at no charge. Through innovative technology, a series of “e-presentations” was created. “Each presentation comprises video clips of one internationally renowned artist who introduces his or her art form, discusses its history, background and specificity, presents personal insights, and performs or demonstrates. Each presentation is also supported by interactive multi-media materials such as pictures, maps, text and quiz games.”
Currently, Hector Elizondo presents theater, Alan Gampel - piano, the late Gregory Hines - dance, Wynton Marsalis - jazz and Elizabeth Murray presents visual arts. Cross-curricular classroom resources also cover history, science, mathematics, and literacy standards. Presentations can be viewed online or can be downloaded in full and played back locally on your hard drive.
